Shanghai Penthouse at Barkli Gallery in Moscow
Interior of a penthouse with oriental motifs in the historical center of Moscow designed by architects "Bakharev and Partners"
This penthouse with magnificent views of Moscow and a huge terrace is called “Shanghai”. The name suits it perfectly according to its mood — the interior by the architects “Bakharev and Partners” has an original mix of ethnic and colonial motifs in the basis of modern objects and laconic finishes with Art Deco elements. In the living room, all these features are shown most vividly: there is a real wood-burning fireplace with a marble portal, and a complex Japanese-style panel under lacquer, and a chest of drawers with jewelry made of lapis lazuli and selenite, behind patinated mirrors hides a window to the kitchen. In the center of the composition is the author’s carpet designed by Maria Bakhareva and custom-made by Manufacture de Tapis de Bourgogne in collaboration with FIFTH AVENUE.
Decorative fabrics are used here in a very original way: in one of bedrooms curtains, bed and even decorative inserts on the bedside tables are made of one type of textile, in the living room high sliding doors are also covered with fabrics, etc. Almost all the textile design of this apartment is also made to order.
