Interior project with a masculine character in the style of French modernism
The project of Moscow apartment designed by Olga Lavrova with furniture and lighting from LIAIGRE Collection
To your attention is a concise, brutal and elegant project of Moscow apartment designed by Olga Lavrova with furniture and lighting from Christian Liaigre Collection on the pages of AD October issue (AD, October 2017).
Apartment in a respectable residential complex in the pine forest on Moscow river a young couple bought from a friend. The apartment had already been renovated, and at first, the hosts wanted just to give the interior a fashionable mood. But in a process of designing it turned out that planning and architectural solutions and overall aesthetics of the object – all demanded a radical change.
“Basically all the furniture in the apartment were made to order — it is faster and more efficient, — says Elena. But the emphasis we have placed with collectible and vintage items. Lamps are our special pride: lamps and sconces by Felix Agostini and Maison Barbier, chandelier by Paavo Tonella. Painting and photography we put together. Initially the owners did not give the art a lot of attention, but when we had to go to my favourite galleries, they enthusiastically set to work. Learning closer to the taste of each other in the field of art, we really became friends. This is only the beginning of the collection, but now the contrast of avant-garde works, classical art, photographs and graphics gives the interior a real chic! And for the master bedroom, we ordered a smaller version of the sensual sculpture of Sergei Sobolev, “Venus”. By the time of family moving to their new apartment, it has got its own history — and it’s, in my opinion, an important part of the work of a decorator”.
