Tassinari & Chatel
Louis Pernon became instantly famous when he opened the doors of his business in 1680 and was followed by three more generations of Pernon until 1807, when the Grand family took the baton and continued carrying the fame and success of the business across Europe. The company’s influence and reputation spread as far as the Court of the Russian Tsars, thanks to its two trump cards: technical innovation and collaboration with the best artists and designers of the age. From 1870, the families of Tassinari and Chatel continued the story with unfailing success, the growing market for Haute Couture filling the gap left by the gradual disappearance of the royal courts of Europe.
